Brief Overview of the Quit Now NC! Program:
- Quit Now NC! staff present at
workshops and conferences for healthcare professionals about resources
available to them to help their patients quit tobacco.
Rx offers regional trainings and provides science-based
tools and trainings for healthcare providers to ensure that nutrition,
physical activity, and quitting tobacco are systematically addressed
in patient care.
- Second only to a tobacco-free worksite,
a physician advising a patient is most effective in helping adults
successfully quit. The Quit Now NC! staff conducts outreach
and trainings to physicians and other healthcare providers to encourage
the establishment of comprehensive, systematic tobacco cessation
programs, like Prevention Rx.
- The NC
Good Health Directory assists people and physicians in
locating services provided by tobacco quitting specialists who can
aid those ready to quit smoking, chewing, and/or spitting.
- The QNNC! website, www.quitnownc.org,
is a comprehensive website featuring national and statewide resources
and information about quitting tobacco.
