Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community and Tobacco Cessation


The National Coalition for LGBT Health found that LGBTs are 40-70% more likely to smoke than non-LGBTs, which is one of the highest smoking rates.

The American Cancer Society found that 50% of LGBT youth use tobacco, compared to 35% of non-LGBT teens.

About 56% of lesbians are current or former smokers compared to 36% of women in general.
